Made?

Sectionals didn't go as I had planned. Our 4x800 relay team finished 2nd. My open 800 time was...slow. Atleast our 4x400 team did well.

At least I advanced in 2 outta of the 3 events I had.

The 4x800 was intense.
First lap split was a 56. As I crossed the line, and saw that time. It freaked me out. A 56 is just a few seconds under my regular 400 time(54s) First lap I was tromped on by another runner. Coming in on my second lap (1:06) he was no where to be seen. Handing it off to our second runner, the race was outta my hands.

Man I was glad.
My final split was a 2:03. Still not an improvment, and not close to what I wanted to run.
Before the meet, we had a game plan on what we wanted to do for the 4x8. Our last leg wasn't the fastest on the team so we decided that we HAD to get him a cushion. The reason was on an opposing team. Standing 6'3, blonde hair and ripped was a beast. If prompted this guy was able to break 2. When our last leg had the baton he came after us. I was too tired to care at that point. A splitting headache dragged me off the track, plus the heat didn't help either. As he passed us on the back-stretch I slumped over a little bit and wanted to cry.

All I had worked for fell apart.

I can't blame it on our last leg. If I would have just went a 2:01 we would have made it.

So we ended up second. We'll make it in Regionals.

The open 8 is a mean ass race. Much harder then any 4x8 I have ever run. You take it, these guys are the fastest on the track. Period. Sure theres the sprinters, but as far as distance to speed ratio. The 800 guys are better.
My time was a warm up pace, I was blocked in and forced to go 3 lanes out.
Time was a 2:06....

The 4x4 came, and we had big shoes to fill. Last year the 4x4 team won, and finally went to State. This year I was thinking if we made it past Sectionals, it would be a blessing.

It was a blessing I guess.

Our 4x4 team won, it came down to our last guy who in the end came through. I ran an all time PR (Personal Record) of 52, kicking us farther in lead then what we had.

All in all I wish I did better.
